About the department

The Department of Pharmaceutics is one of the key department of the institute and is equipped with high-tech facilities to take on research in drug delivery. The Pharmaceutics Department emphasis on both theoretical & practical aspects of fundamentals underlying the formulation & drug development and offers in all levels of pharmacy courses like Graduate, Masters and PhD Programs. Department is well equipped with 2 undergraduate laboratories, 1 postgraduate laboratory, 1 pilot plant along with specialized research center "the instrument lab".

Within the span of 10 years the department has produced number of graduates & post graduates competing in world class pharmaceutical market. Department has published numbers of research papers in the journals of National and International repute.

The department is presently engaged in research on:

  • Development of single dose vaccines
  • Screening of phyto-constituents for their adjuvant activity
  • Bioavailability and bioequivalence studies
  • Preformulation studies
  • Development and evaluation of Novel Delivery Carriers for drugs like Microspheres, Liposomes and Dendrimers etc for drug delivery.
  • Development of mouth dissolving/floating/enteric coated tablets

Labs & Facilities:

B. Pharm. Laboratories: B.Pharm. labs are equipped with instruments required for formulation of syrup, tablet, ointment, suspension, emulsion and other dosage forms and their quality control.

M. Pharm. Lab: The sophisticated lab contains state of the art facility for research and formulation development of Active Pharmaceutical Ingredient (API).

Instrument Lab:Equipped with sophisticated instruments like HPLC, UV-Spectrometer, Auto Sample Analyzer, Cooling centrifuge, etc

Pilot Plant (Machine Room) :Equipped with well established Tablet Section, Liquid Oral Section, Ointment Section & Parenteral Section
