Department of Pharmaceutical Chemistry

about the department

Pharmaceutical chemistry is a discipline at the intersection of chemistry and pharmacology involved with design, synthesis and development of candidate drugs. Pharmaceutical chemistry involves the identification, synthesis and development of new chemical entities suitable for therapeutic use.

The department is equipped with Hi - Tech Laboratories i.e. Organic-chemistry synthesis labs, Research labs, and Instrument lab. All the labs are equipped with the modern research facilities, to tune the students with the current and future drug discovery scenario.

The department is engaged in the following areas of research:

  • Computer Aided Drug Design
  • Combinatorial Chemistry
  • Drug Synthesis and Characterization

Labs & Facilities

Pharmaceutical Chemistry Labs: Labs are for B.Pharm. Students and are equipped with instruments required for synthesis and characterization of drugs, Limit test and identification of cations and anions.

Instrument Lab: Equipped with sophisticated instruments like HPLC, UV-Spectrometer, Auto Sample Analyzer, etc.
